SMART - Does it detect faults on both drives?

I'm assuming the answer to this will be a no, but I thought I'd ask anyway

If I have SyncBackPro installed on one PC and use it to copy data to another drive on my home network in another PC.

There is no way it's going to detect any SMART faults on the destination networked drive is there? Only the drives physically attached to the computer than the program is installed on?
