Is it possible, and would it make sense, to make a totally complete copy of my hard drive on an external drive? Someone told me if I did that, then if my computer fell overboard, I could hook up the external drive to a new computer, hold down a certain key, and the computer would just boot & run off it, as though it was my old computer. I suppose then there should be a way to transfer that to my new computer? Is this a valid idea?
