Possible for SBSE to trash known good files on file copy?

Hello,

Recently I rebuilt our Windows Home Server to v2011 from V1. My entire FLAC music library is stored to several drives both on and offsite for safe keeping.

Once the server was rebuilt - I set to restoring the data to the new shares. For the music share - I used SyncBackSE to basically do a straight mirror copy of one of my existing backup drives - some 600GB of FLAC files.

Now - it took like 6 hours to move it all across - but now - several weeks after the copy - I am finding rare but verifiable instances of specific music files suddenly having dropouts and glitches. At first I thought it was possible the network (I stream the tunes from out desktops) and spent a while checking network cards, jumbo frames and all the kinda crap.

But yesterday - it happened again - this time on an album which is very recent and one that I know did not have glitches whatsoever just a scant 2 weeks ago (pre-server rebuild). When I heard the glitch this time - I isolated the track and noted the exact time it was glitching.

I then took this track into my studio...unpacked it from it's FLAC container and zoomed in on the glitch. To my surprise - the file actually had a millisecond "gap" (Empty space) right at the glitch. I then went back to several other albums that I made note of and the same thing was happening there.

This album has 20 tracks but only this one - has the "gap". The other 19 tracks are fine. I purchased this album online and can confirm is has played flawlessly since I bought it several months ago - I listen to it a LOT.

I have been very annoyed as to how this could occur and after much troubleshooting - the only culprit left is SyncBackSE having some sort of a rare "burp" or copy problem for a millisecond or so when I was restoring my files.

If that's the case - what are the absolute best set of "settings" to have on my Syncback profiles to ensure I get the most accurate copy?

NOTE: In order to save myself some time during my restore when rebuilding my shares - I did make some major changes to my restore profiles in order to speed up this restore. I removed several options that SyncBackSE said were "slowing" down my performance - and now in hindsight - I probably should have left them alone and taken the extra time to copy my files :(

Appreciate any tips to get the most accurate copy possible. Even if it's 3 time slower than a "fast backup".

Cheers,

VP
