I have read that link and very interesting. There does seem a need for a 3 way sync option, but as you said in the other thread, where do you stop.

In my case. Server and two PC's
In reality I cannot see a scenario where data would be directly saved on the server, as the server is just holding a backup of the data.

It seems that all I need to do would be to 1st run a sync between the two PC's to get them in sync, and then run another sync between either PC and the server which will bring the server up to date also.
