Hello everybody, i need little help here. I have laptop with sensitive information and want to backup everything to external hard drive which i already backed up previous install of Windows XP Home Edition to before reinstalling same OS. I want to back up my current system to external hard drive but will be there any conflicts? Previous system is still on external hard drive along with other data that i would like to keep. I don't care about previous system there but i still need other data.

Questions:

1. How to back up current system to external hard drive so all other data except previous system will be kept and not overwritten?
   
2. Will i be able to boot external hard drive after this and use it as auxiliary bootable drive?
