Trouble printing from Acrobat 9.4.2? Adobe has a few solutions for you to try

Acrobat is a staple of the Windows office domain. Almost all online journals are distributed in the PDF format, and while Acrobat isn't always the best, or lightest way to view PDFs, it's what most PDF authors will turn to.

Since Acrobat was updated to 9.4.2, some unfortunate users have been having issues printing with errors like: "Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer;" others just getting nothing when they hit OK to print.

Adobe's on the problem, but like any relationship with communication issues, there's no straightforward one-fits-all solution. So, Adobe's released an extensive support document ready to help you get your printer and Acrobat talking again. The solutions range from a software patch, to dragging-and-dropping your PDF into the print queue.

Needless to say some of these 'solutions' are going to get annoying if you have to do it every time you want to print. Perhaps it's time to switch to an alternative PDF reader?
